But now that a Republican president has been elected the Democrats have gone crazy and just cannot control themselves. I know numerous Democrats who openly rant with "he's not my President". It's not surprising that they are causing such a ruckus since many of them are ruled by emotion and not logic. But we've seen this before. Last time it was called "Bush Derangement Syndrome" and lasted for 8 years.

Re: Setting the trap

I don't claim to have all the answers as you seem to do. Furthermore, we do not just "want want want" as you so misguidedly state. We do not want this administration spending billions of dollars on a stupid wall that will only alienate nations and people and cause more problems..why not rather use that money to fund healthcare for everyone? We do not want the EPA to be dismantled. We do not want our social security to be destroyed. We do not want our education to be destroyed. We do not want our COUNTRY to be destroyed. I honestly don't know what planet you inhabit.

Re: Setting the trap

I do not believe that 20 or 30 elderly people are a threat to Marino. I do know that Leftist groups are paying people to infiltrate town halls and be disruptive to make it appear that the country supports things like Obamacare.

What I would like to see Marino do is to ask people like you what your answers are to the following questions:

- Obamacare Insurance Premiums are rising about 25% each year. The average family of four has gone from paying $400/month with a deductible of $500/year to paying $1,000/month with a deductive of $5,000/year. That's an average across the USA. Why do you want this to continue?

- Seven states have only one insurance company to choose from. 2/3 of the counties in the U.S. have only one insurance company to choose from. There is no competition. Why do you support such a thing?

- 15 of the 23 exchange co-ops in the U.S. have failed, despite the federal government pumping over $1.5 billion in tax dollars. How do you propose to fix this without the use of more tax dollars?

- Medicaid has been expanded but the outcomes for people with Medicaid are about the same as the outcomes of people with no insurance. Doctors are refusing to take on Medicaid patients but it costs more to treat them than Medicaid will pay them. Do you think this is OK? If not, what is your plan?

I could go on, but you can start with those questions.

And - before you say it - socialized medicine is not the answer. It is failing financially in Europe and Canada. In the United States if you need a hip replacement or cardiac surgery you can typically schedule it within a month (even the next day if really necessary). In the UK the wait time can be 18 months. Same in Canada. And a few years back the Premier (Governor) of Newfoundland traveled to Florida for heart surgery that was simply not available in Canada (he was wealthy and paid the bill himself). Countries like Denmark and Sweden are openly talking about how they can't afford it.

The way forward is to repeal Obamare. Replace it with a free market health care system. Let people purchase insurance across state lines (allowing competition). Let people organize into groups to purchase health care. Provide tax deductions and subsidies for those who need it, along with high risk pools for those with serious diseases who have trouble paying for it.

But I hope you can answer my questions.

Re: Setting the trap

Are you really naive enough to believe that 20 or 30 middle aged to elderly women (and some men) are a threat to Marino? We are NOT paid to voice our opinions. Oh, and by the way, President Obama isn't responsible for our concern. That's just "alternative facts".

Re: Setting the trap

Local activists don't care about the cost of the programs they are demanding to the taxpayer. They want, want, want and want. Yes, we must care for those who can't care for themselves but the United States is now at the point where almost half the people receive some sort of transfer payment taken from the other half. That is untenable in the long rum.

I do believe that Marino should meet with any of his constituents, but town halls are dangerous given that groups like "Organizing for Action" are paying people to disrupt them. [During the campaign Robert Creamer admitted that his group "Democracy Partners" was paid by the Clinton campaign to incite violence at Trump rallies.] No, the way forward is for individual or small group meetings, where participants are asked to show proof of residency in the district (to avoid meeting with the Democrats who have been inciting violence).

Re: Setting the trap

A brilliant illustration of how you too can catch the attention of your congress critter in hiding. Just like there are 5, 10, 25 and 100 year floods there are winters that are warm and winters that are cold.

The climate is always changing. In the Middle Ages there was the "Middle Age Warm Up" when temperatures in Europe averaged about 7 degrees warmer (so warm that there were vineyards in England!). It was followed by a little ice. The year 1816 was dubbed "The year without a summer" because it was so cold (frost, snow and freezing temperatures in July and August).

Re: What month is it, again?

No one denies Climate Change.
It's the smugness of a portion of the scientific community who place most of the blame on MAN !
The herd instinct still lives..
One question please ?
What was the composition of "the universe" (?) 3 minutes prior to the Big Bang ?

Re: What month is it, again?

The weather here is now very similar to when we used to live in North Carolina... Even with full subsidies many cannot afford to use the health care plans they are required to purchase because of deductibles that are often over $5,000/family per year.

And Medicaid? Studies show that people on Medicaid have outcomes similar to those who do not have any health coverage at all. There are many reasons for this, but one is because they have a hard time finding doctors to provide care as the reimbursement provided to the doctor oftentimes does not cover the cost of he service (causing the doctor not to want to take or limit the number of Medicaid patients he will take).

The Left does not care at all that the quality of care provided to people is unacceptably poor and the costs of that care unacceptable high.

Obamacare needs to be repealed. Replace it with a competitive free-market health care system where consumers are in charge. Provide subsidies and tax credits for those who need it. -- Last year I read about a doctor in Portland, Maine who stopped managing the insurance / Medicare / Medicaid end of health care. People pay in cash and take away the needed paperwork to file a claim. He lowered his fees by more than half and was able to reduce the number of people who worked full time processing insurance forms by 3 people.

Re: First, do no harm?

It is not just the poor that will be losing their local hospitals the rural and isolated communities will see less and less access to healthcare

Re: The generally nutty Trump administration

Pick, pick--sob, sob---whine whine..

Re: The generally nutty Trump administration

Weak leaders like the Republican President most often lead to war Bush the torturer is but one example
